Health Walks at Central Park
In partnership with Vivacity's Healthy You team, Friends of Central Park are pleased to announce the start of a weekly 'Walking for Health' initiative right here in Central Park. The initial walk will take place on Saturday 26th June during the Sports Taster Event with consecutive walks taking place weekly thereafter.
All the walks are FREE, the concept being to help individuals with both their physical and mental health in a relaxed and sociable setting. Each walk is lead by a trained volunteer 'Walk Leader' who will risk assess the routes and ensure the right pace is set for individual participants based on their own ability and level of fitness. Each walk will consist of no more than 30 people with the expectation that the rule of 2m social distancing will be followed.
The Central Park Walk Leader is Fozia Sultana and she can be contacted on 07758 913210.
What better way is there to enjoy the fresh air and the beauty of the park!
The activity is managed by the Vivacity group, who already have several established 'Walking for Health' activities operating around the Peterborough area.
