Christmas Dementia Walk 2019

This proved to be another successful year with a good turn out despite the weather.

Close up on avocados and green shake

Dementia Walks take place on the third Thursday of every month at Central Park.

Everyone is welcome. Attendees meet at The Willow Cafe at 11.30am and take one of the many routes available around the park, followed by the opportunity to have a hot drink and a catch up in the cafe before the event finishes at around 12.30pm.

In December, as custom, the walk is finished off with a small Christmas Party held in The Willow Cafe. This year was no exception.

Despite the awful weather, many people came along to support the event.

Hot drinks, mince pies and lots of good cheer and laughter were enjoyed by everyone whilst having a sing along to a variety of traditional Christmas Carols.

What a lovely atmosphere!

The event itself would not been completed without the distribution of Christmas presents by Father Christmas himself. A small token to say thank you for all those who support the event week in week out.

Huge thanks to all those who volunteer their time to ensure this event is enjoyed month after month and year after year.

Special thanks goes to our Events Officer, Bernadetta Ormondi, Christine at The Willow Cafe and Function Room and Pauline at the Ken Stimpson Community School for supplying the gorgeous mince pies!

We hope to see you all next year!
